This week students at Longford Primary took part in some biosecurity sessions, in their STEM class. Kids to Farms: Educating Kids about Agriculture visited our class. Biosecurity is very important in the world of agriculture. Part of this session was looking at the Khapra beetle, which is a threat to grains. The demonstration showed how difficult it might be to find a tiny pest such as this.
