Garden News
What an icy start for garden on Friday! The 3/4 Gleeson/Herring students braved fog and frost in the story circle with blankets a minor concession. It got even colder when they launched into water workshops and planting. Washing hands was slow with the pipes still partially frozen. We decided to run the next classes indoors!

You will see photos of an erosion and weathering activity. This revealed the power of plant roots as soil glue, especially on steep slopes. Students then put theory into practice by planting natives around the oval. Megs ran a book making group that has inspired students to see themselves as scientific authors while chefs created pancakes from pumpkin. Delicious.

The cloudspotting and ice ornaments you can see were activities from a warmer day!
Fowl Friends
These students have had the difficult task of caring for our school flock during a time of sickness. Instead of welcoming visitors, the fowl friends have been calculating how much medicine to add to the drinking water and understanding the need for greater hygiene. They have done well to adapt to the demands of the season.
