From the Principal

Dear Longford Primary School Families

Muffins with Mum

We love our Mums, Nans, Aunts and special people, and it was fabulous to see them at our Mother’s Day, Muffins with Mum breakfast. Families shared muffins, tea and coffee, as they chatted and laughed together. Thank you for taking the time to join us, we know it meant so much to our students.

Cross Country

Earlier this week, our Grade 3 to 6 students, showed grit and sportsmanship, during the Cross Country. It was so pleasing to see students supporting and encouraging each other, as they did their best. We thank families that came along to support our students, we appreciate your cheering and smiles. Some of these students have been chosen to run in the Northern Midlands Cross Country in a few weeks’ time, we wish them the best of luck and know they will represent our school with pride.

Upcoming Events

Keep a look out on our calendar; we have lots of important and exciting things coming up this term. Our staff are busy planning for our Winter Solstice on Thursday 19th June, so get those scarves and gloves ready. Parent teacher is also coming up in weeks 8 and 9, an important opportunity for teachers and families to come together and share student progress. Our Prep to Grade 2 students will have a visit from Ditto tomorrow, such a vital message about keeping safe and empowering them to speaking up. Readers Cup and Illuminate are coming up for Grade 5/6s, we wish them luck in both these opportunities.

Respect

As we continue to focus on the value of Respect, it is great to see our students inquire about the different ways we can show respect. Respect can be shown with words and actions, to people and places.

We wish Mrs Burnett all the best on her Hardie Fellowship in America for the remainder of the term, and welcome Mrs Copeland back late next week from long service leave. Myself, Mr Nobes, Mrs Jackson and Mrs Freeman are available to support families where needed, please contact the office.
