Congratulations to our Student Leaders and House Captains who have courageously accepted the responsibility of serving our school community, supporting their fellow students and strengthening our school’s connections with the broader Longford community.

In Week 4, they represented our school and learned about the significance of investing in your local community, as new Legends were inducted into the Longford Legends Walk. They were encouraged by journalist and presenter, Neil Kearney, who attended Longford Primary School in days gone by, to dream big and consider what contribution they might have to offer the community as they heard of others who have gone before them and set an example to follow.

In Week 6, Student Leaders and House Captains, along with Student Leaders from across the north of Tasmania, attended the GRIP Leadership Conference, reflecting on the responsibilities of a leader and how to help school be a positive place for others.  Students will now apply these learnings to their work within our school.

In addition, the House Captains ably supported their peers in the Athletics Carnival – encouraging participation from all students from Prep to Grade 6 and celebrating their efforts.

We look forward to their contribution to our school in the year ahead, as they work together to support our school.
