Hollybank Excursion
On Wednesday the 27th of November 3/4 Spangaro, 4 McLauchlan/Cato and all the grade 5’s went on an excursion to Hollybank Forest Reserve. When we arrived there we met Hannah and Kate from the Forestry Education Foundation. They showed us around and told us many facts about the forest. Students participated in a large range of fun activities including searching through rotting wood, constructing tree houses, going on walking tracks through different types of forests, looking at and learning about ecosystems, our environment and how it changes. We learned about life cycles of trees and how they grow from seeds, grow into saplings then mature trees and create seeds to begin new trees. This is their life cycle. Students had a lot of fun on the day.
